Marquette, MI – October 1st, 2025 – NMU hockey drops the puck for the first time this weekend as the Wildcats open their season at UMass. The team faces a challenging four-game stretch, starting with #15 UMass and #16 Ohio State on the road. Then NMU will then host #21 Colorado College on October 17th and 18th, followed by home games against #3 Michigan State on October 24th and 25th.
This past week, Dave Shaiak announced his captains for the upcoming season. Wearing the captain’s patch this year for the Wildcats will be Tynan Ewart and Nick Ardanaz, while Caiden Gault and Zane Dempsey will serve as assistant captains.
The Wildcats struggled last season, finishing with a 5-27-2 record and a 2-14 record at the Berry Event Center. The Wildcats would love to see you your support this year as they looked to improve from last year. You can click this link to find the full season schedule.
