Marquette, MI – August 8th, 2025 – The NFL preseason kicked off last night, allowing fans to watch three exciting games.
Beginning with a matchup between the Indianapolis Colts and the Baltimore Ravens. The Colts opted to play several starters, including their quarterback, Anthony Richardson. Richardson completed two out of three passes before Ravens defender David Ojabo rushed in unblocked and hit him unexpectedly. As a result, Richardson quickly exited the game, and Daniel Jones came in as his replacement. Meanwhile, the Ravens excelled in special teams, with LaJonntay Wester returning a punt for an impressive 83-yard touchdown, helping his team establish a 14-3 lead. In the end, the Ravens maintained their early advantage to win 24 – 16.
Next, the Cincinnati Bengals faced off against the Super Bowl-winning Philadelphia Eagles. Both teams didn’t play many starters; however, the Bengals featured star quarterback Joe Burrow and wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase. Burrow and Chase’s connection was on fire last night, with Burrow finishing 9 of 10 for 123 yards and two touchdowns, while Chase recorded four catches for 77 yards and a touchdown. The standout performance of the night came from Eagles quarterback Tanner McKee, who completed 20 of 25 passes for 252 yards and two touchdowns, leading his team to a 34-27 victory.
The final game of the night saw the Las Vegas Raiders and the Seattle Seahawks battling it out. Both teams played a few starters, but only for about one drive. The Seahawks jumped out to an early 16-3 lead at halftime, thanks to touchdowns from George Holani and Tory Horton, as well as a 48-yard field goal from Jason Myers. The third quarter saw limited action, with only a single touchdown from Dylan Laube bringing the Raiders within a touchdown. The fourth quarter featured a touchdown for each team. Carlson then successfully kicked a 51-yard field goal to end the game in a tie at 23 a piece.
This evening, three additional games are scheduled to take place, including the Cleveland Browns at the Carolina Panthers, the Atlanta Falcons hosting the Detroit Lions, and the Washington Commanders visiting the New England Patriots.
