Neguanee’s Run Comes to a End

The Negaunee Miners take a break at the mound to focus their defense

Marquette, MI – August 5th, 2025 – The Negaunee Miners saw their great run come to an end yesterday as they were eliminated from the Great Lakes Regional Tournament by Eastern Little League from Lexington, Kentucky.

Kentucky grabbed an early lead in the top of the first after a Miner’s error, scoring two runs. In the bottom of the first, Nathan Harvala added to his home run total, hitting a solo shot. Harvala also made a standout over-the-shoulder catch in the third inning. Kentucky would then pass the mound off to Levi Forrester, who would pitch a no-hitter in the final three innings.

Although the Great Lakes Regional didn’t go as planned for the Miners, they made history by winning the first-ever Michigan State Championship in program history. With that, the Miners can forever say they had the opportunity to play on ESPN+. Keep your eye on this Negaunee team in the future, because it feels like they’re just getting started.
