Marquette, MI – October 9th, 2025 – The teams are gearing up for another exciting week of football. With the playoffs approaching, every team is competing for better seeding. If you’re curious about your team’s chances, you can click this link to view the projected playoff seeding. While the projections may not be entirely accurate, they provide a good insight into each team’s standings.
Let’s start with the Negaunee Miners. They were unable to play last week because Westwood couldn’t field a team. This situation may have actually benefited the Miners, as they received an extra week to recover from injuries. Meanwhile, the Menominee Maroons remain undefeated and are performing exceptionally well. The game is scheduled for kickoff at 7:00 p.m. at Blesch Stadium in Menominee. You can listen to the broadcast on Sunny 101.9.
The Ishpeming Hematites will return home after their trip to Norway last week, where they suffered a 44-24 defeat. They are set to host St. Ignace for the first time in an eight-player matchup, which is also a conference game. Grady Gauthier is expected to take on a leading role again, having accumulated over 300 yards last week. Kickoff is scheduled for Saturday at 2:00 p.m. You can listen live on 98.3 WRUP.
Finally, the Marquette Sentinels experienced a tough loss in Escanaba (38-20). They are returning home for their next game and will host Petoskey. Marquette needs to be flawless to end the season to have any chance of making the postseason. They fell short last season at 6-3. They are hoping to make it this year, but have already tied that loss record. Kickoff is set for Friday at 7:00 p.m. Michael Williams will cover the game on 105.1 or 99.9 Fox Sports Marquette.
