Marquette, MI – October 7th, 2025 – High school football season continues to thrill as playoff anticipation builds. This week delivered two intense conference matchups and one unexpected result. The Negaunee Miners earned a forfeit win after Westwood was unable to field enough healthy players. The Miners advance to 4-2 on the season and will return to action this week.
The Ishpeming Hematites, who had strung together two wins in a row to build some momentum, would clash with one of the top eight player teams this year. The Norway Knights stuck first, but Grady Gauthier would answer. He began his run with a five-yard gain before being met by a knight’s defender, yet he was able to stay off the ground down. He got up, taking everyone by surprise, and scored. In the end, the Hematites would fall short 44-24, dropping the Hematites to 2-4 on the season. Gauthier reached the 1,500 yard milestone this past week, adding over 300 yards.
