Marquette, MI – Chicago Cubs third baseman Kris Bryant tossed his glove high in the air as the Cubs celebrated a four run ninth inning, winning the game 6-5 and eliminating the San Francisco Giants. The Cubs now move on to the NLCS and will face the winner of the Dodgers and Nationals.
The mood in the Dodgers dugout after Clayton Kershaw was taken off the mound was quiet and a bit sad. The 8th inning came around and all of a sudden the Dodgers were back in it, Chase Utley came through with a hit to break the tie and the Dodgers will live to see another day. The Nationals and Dodgers will play an elimination game tomorrow with the winner advancing to take on the Chicago Cubs.
William R. Hart Stadium will be hosting its first football game this Friday on the new turf. The Marquette Redmen will play their longtime rival Negaunee in the battle for the Diamond Jubilee Trophy. Fox Sports Marquette and Great Lake Radio will be a big part of this event holding interviews, bringing music and giving away prizes.
