Marquette, MI – June 23, 2025 –
This past weekend, the U.P. All-Star Football game took place at the Superior Dome. This year, the game was a lot more lopsided than usual as the black team took an early lead and never took their foot off the gas pedal. In the end, team black came away with a 56 – 7 win. Both head coaches, Robin Marttila and Paul Jacobson, were coaching in their last high school games. Marttila was able to coach his son, Ian, at quarterback one last time. His son played an incredible game, earning the Offensive M.V.P. award for team black. The defense for the black team was on point all day, only allowing 7 points on the first drive and getting a pick six. In the end, Sam Miller took home the Defensive M.V.P. Although the red team lost they still received awards. Mason Tappy took home the Defensive M.V.P. for the red team and Kevin Giuliani (Michigan Tech commit) took home the Offensive M.V.P. Overall it was a great week for the athletes leading up to the kickoff. A big shoutout to AdvantEdge Sports and Dustin Brancheau for putting on this wonderful event.
