The Redmen opened up the first period with an early goal at the 1:55 mark. Evan Kroll found the back of the net with help from Owen Riipi to give Marquette the 1-0 advantage over the Flivvers.
In spite of the early goal, the Redmen took the rest of the period to get their feet back under them and improve their lead. Both teams looked a little out of sorts as they tried to find their rhythm.
Marquette settled into a groove as the final seconds ticked down in the opening period. Another goal from Kroll, this time assisted by Joseph Luke, gave the Redmen a 2-0 advantage going into the break.

It was a sleepy start to the second period as, again, struggling to find a rhythm seemed the biggest enemy for Marquette. A few offensive penalties on the Redmen gave Kingsford the advantage, but the Flivvers could not convert even on a short-handed Marquette team.
Lucas Guertin, with help from Dylan Baldwin, injected a little life into the Redmen with their first and only goal of the period to improve to a 3-0 lead over Kingsford.
The Redmen got things going a little quicker in the third period. With just three minutes gone, Ethan Phillips found the back of the net for a score of 4-0. Gaetano Cammarata and Ansel Frost assisted.
An effortless wrist shot from Jacob Peterson followed at about the 12-minute mark, with assistance from Cammarata. The goal put the Redmen at 5-0 late in the period. Ryan Baldwin, with help from Riipi, turned right around and scored for Marquette again in short order.
The final seconds of the game saw another Peterson goal, with help from Hogan Nemetz and Jacob Garrow, to settle the final score at 7-0 over the Kingsford Flivvers.
