First Half: Westwood was the team who got on the board first. However the Redmen would take over and show why they’re the number one seed in the district tournament. Marquette was able to put together a 15-0 run led by senior Kameron Karp’s five points. The three point shot was also the theme for the Redmen as the seniors, Brady Wright, Kameron Karp, Ty Lotterman, and Lincoln Sager sending home shots from behind the arc.
Westwood would show life as they strung together a 6-0 run to bring the score to, 19-11 in favor of the Redmen. The second quarter wasn’t too favorable for the Patriots either as their team’s deficit grew. The half ended with Connor Johnson landing a 3-pointer to bring the Redmen into the locker room with the lead.
Halftime: Marquette 42, Westwood 17.

Second Half: Marquette continued to tally up the points to start the second half of the game. Redmen Lincoln Sager started things off sending home a three. It was followed by Ty Lotterman hitting a bucket off the glass for an extra two points for the Redmen. Lotterman put up another put-back bucket to start the running time on the game with the Redmen going up 41 points.
The points were few and far between for the Patriots as they weren’t able to get under a 30 point deficit to stop the running clock. Coach Brad Nelson for the Redmen pulled the starters in the first couple minutes of the fourth quarter. That allowed the bench players to get quality playing time for the Redmen. Sam Bartlett was able to hit a 3-pointer for Marquette followed by teammate Brady Wright hitting one of his own. The seniors eventually did go back in and recieved a “curtain call” on their way back to the bench to end the game.
Final: Marquette 69, Westwood 31
