The Miners came out fast and made the first goal of the game by Luke Hubbard.
The Marquette Redmen responded quickly with a goal by Joseph Luke and an assist for Nick Leafers. Lucas Guertin got his first goal as a varsity Redmen with a nice assist by Gaetanno Cammarata ending the first period with a 2-1 lead over the Miners.

The second period was quiet until a nice assist by Kobie Guidebeck for a power play goal by Thomas Dunleavy for the Redmen. The Miners kept the aggression up but allowed Evan Kroll to score his first goal as a Redmen for a 4-1 lead.
Marquette Redmen started the final period with a five minute power play, but no goal. The third period resulted in another goal for the Redmen by Hogan Nemetz with the assist by Evan Kroll and Kobie Guidebeck for a 5-1 lead.
The Redmen easily pulled off their 5-1 victory over the Negaunee Miners in a physical game. The last six games have all been victories for the Redmen.
The Redmen will be at Grand Haven on Thursday, January 10th on Fox Sports Marquette 105.1-99.9. Tune in for pregame at 7:30 pm; the puck drops at 8:00 pm.
