
The Marquette Redmen received kicked off to start the game. On the Traverse City Central Trojans first drive of the game, Marquette almost stopped them on downs, however a fake punt kept the drive going. That led to the Trojans’ first touchdown making the score 0-7 with seven minutes left in the first. On the kick off, a squib kick gave control right back to TC. The Redmen were unable to stop their next drive as well, and they soon found themselves trailing by 13 points. Hope was not lost though. With three minutes left in the game, Wyatt Goodwin caught a huge 48-yard pass and ran in for a touchdown with brought the score to 7-13 after the extra point, and that’s how the quarter would end.
Traverse City started in control of the ball in the second quarter, but the Marquette Redmen were doing everything they could to mount a comeback. Despite their best efforts, the Trojans scored early on a 40+ yard pass play and brought the score gap back to two touchdowns. Adam Jenshak came up huge on defense for Marquette when he intercepted a Trojan pass and gave control back to the Redmen. As the quarter wore on, the Marquette Redmen continued to have trouble with Travers City’s offense, and with just under three minutes left in the first half, the Trojans scored again making it 7-26. The Traverse City Trojans continued to dominate on offense, and the Trojans’ Williams running back scored his third touchdown of the game and made the score 7-33 on Fox Sports Marquette and 103-FXD.

It continued to be the Traverse City Trojans game as the third quarter started. The Trojans received the kick off, but the Marquette Redmen were able to stop their first drive of the second half. Marquette’s offense continued to struggle, and soon Traverse City had control of the ball again and quickly scored with under nine minutes left in the quarter. The Redmen did everything they could to fight back, but the Trojans again scored to make the total 7-45. Marquette had a glimmer of hope however, when Ethan Martysz scored a touchdown on a monster 70-yard pass, bringing the score to 14-45.
The Marquette Redmen continued their fight back into the game as the final quarter started, and within the first minutes of the final quarter, Marquette brought the score to 20-45. Even though Marquette was beginning to make an incredible comeback, the clock was winding down quickly. Halftime seemed to be the necessary kick start the Redmen needed to get their offense into gear, but they ran out of game time, and the final score was 20-45 on Fox Sports Marquette 105.1, 99.9FM, and Simulcast on 103-FXD!
