Marquette Redmen defeat Romeo Bulldogs 4-0 in crushing victory.

Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan – December 2nd, 2017 – Marquette Hockey is gearing up with the Marquette Redmen facing off against the Romeo Bulldogs in Sault Ste. Marie defeating the Romeo Bulldogs 4-0.

The first period saw the Redmen squashing 3 penalties by the Romeo Bulldogs, Jaden Lessard made his first ever goal as a Redmen taking an early lead on the Bulldogs 1-0.  Hunter Doucette suffered an injury to the knee retrieving a loose puck. The Redmen players gave no space for the Bulldogs to capitalize on their powerplays and ultimately closed the period with Ethan Jones moving from defense to forward scoring for the Marquette Redmen bringing the team to a 2-0 lead finishing up the first period.

The Redmen opened the second period into a powerplay and Ethan Jones scored on the Bulldogs bringing a 3-0 lead for the Redmen, making his second goal of the game. Hunter Doucette sat out the rest of the game due to a bruised knee, he is expected to recover without issue. The Redmen played a strong defense against the Bulldogs for the remainder of the second, neither team scoring to the close.

Early in the third the Redmen took 2 penalties briefly for a 5 on 3 Hockey game for a minute, not losing their momentum and maintaining their lead over the Bulldogs. The Redmen came back to make their 4th score of the game by Joe Phillips bringing them to 4-0 in the closing of the third to take the win over Romeo bringing the Redmen to 3-1 win after a loss last Friday against the Eagles.

The Marquette Redmen will face the Calumet Copperkings next Tuesday, puck drops at 7:00PM and pregame at 6:30.
