- Updated: March 27, 2021

Marquette, MI – March 27, 2021 – The Marquette Redmen basketball team conquered the Petoskey Northmen to take the District Championship title this afternoon on Fox Sports Marquette 105.1-99.9.
Kam Karp put up the game’s first bucket to give the Redmen the early advantage at 2-0. The Northmen responded with a 8-0 run to claim the lead as the action got underway this Saturday afternoon.
The Redmen didn’t take long to reclaim the lead. Karp, who would end up with 25 points for the game, sunk a triple in response to a Petoskey three-pointer to help Marquette get within one possession of the Northmen. Lincoln Sager got the layup to give the Redmen the 17-16 lead just before the buzzer.

Ty Lotterman had back to back buckets in the final minutes of the half to give the Redmen a four-point lead. The score settled at 31-27 as Marquette moved with a full head of steam into the second half.
Karp found Lincoln Sager with a beautiful bounce pass as Sager put up the first points of the third period to bolster the Redmen lead.
The Northmen, however, took off on a 5-0 run to get within one point of the Redmen. DeMay responded with a triple to bring the Redmen lead back out to four points.
Lotterman slammed down the dunk to keep the Redmen out front by seven, the score 43-36. The Northmen got within one point soon enough, but Lotterman came up with another dunk to protect Marquette’s lead. David Eberhard came up with a clutch triple at the buzzer to bring the score to 48-42 for the Redmen.
