Marquette, MI – December 5, 2023 – The Marquette girls basketball team opened their season with a 44-33 loss to the Sault Ste Marie Blue Devils at Barb Crill Gymnasium on Tuesday night. Marquette’s Aubrey Blackburn scored the first points of the game, but this would be the last time the hosts would have a lead, as turnovers and the Sault’s physicality proved too much to overcome.
The Marquette girls are back in action on Tuesday, December 12, when they make the short trip to Negaunee to renew their rivalry with the Miners. That game tips off at 7:15, and Carl Leander Johnson will have the broadcast over on our sister station Sunny 101.9 and online at sunny.fm.
