Marquette Falls To Menominee 34-13 on 103.3 WFXD
- Updated: October 8, 2021

Marquette, MI – October 8, 2021 – The Marquette Redmen hosted a tough team Friday night in the Menominee Maroons. The game was broadcast live and online on 103.3 WFXD!
1st QTR: The visiting Menominee Maroons received the opening kickoff to start things off. With their unique single-wing style offense the Maroons relied heavily on their run game. They put together a 12 play drive that culminated in an Aidan Bellisle four yard touchdown to put Menominee up, 6-0.
Marquette recovered a squib kick to give them good field position to start their opening drive. With the very first play they took to the air. Quarterback Austin Ridl was able to find Owen Beauchamp for a quick 44 yard pickup. The Menominee defense would prove to be quite tough keeping the Redmen out of the redzone. Marquette would bring out the kicker, Ryland Kohler to attempt a field goal. He would split the uprights and Marquette would get on the board, 6-3.
The Maroons would respond by Trevor Theuerkauf breaking off a 31 yard run to push his way into the Marquette redzone. Bellisle would punch in the score from six yards out. The two-point conversion was unsuccessful making the score, 12-3 in favor of the Maroons.

Captains Meeting
2nd QTR: The Redmen offense was able to string a number of plays together following the start of the second quarter. They would move their way into Maroon territory before Ridl fumbled the ball leading to a Menominee recovery. The Maroons would take over and after a couple plays Aidan Bellisle would find Brady Badker through the air for a 44 yard touchdown. Two-point conversion was successful this time around to make the score, 20-3 in favor of the Maroons.
Marquette had trouble getting into rhythm with their offense, but the defense would hold up on the following Menominee possession. The Redmen would receive a punt and start their way down the field. Austin Ridl would pick up 42 yards on the ground to put Marquette into a scoring scenario. The Maroon defense was very stingy not letting the Redmen cross the goal line. Marquette brought out the field goal unit to attempt a 31 yard kick which would go through the uprights to bring the score to, 20-6.
The two teams would give the ball back and forth to round out the final minutes of the first half. Menominee had the final possession of the half. They pulled a “hook-and-ladder” to gain some yardage before David Eberhard intercepted a pass by Bellisle in the following play. The Maroons went into the locker room with the lead of the Redmen.

Marquette Mid-Feild
3rd QTR: Marquette started the second half of the game not able to do a whole lot. The were forced to punt the ball away back to the Maroons. Menominee would string together 11 plays ending with Bellisle to Brady Badker for an 11 yard touchdown reception, the two-point conversion was good. The Maroons continued to build their lead, 28-6.
The Redmen offense would then start clicking. Putting together a lengthy drive down the field starting at their own 10 yard line. Austin Ridl would hit Owen Beauchamp in stride to gain 48 yards. They would continue to mix up their plays before Ridl would find Eberhard through the air for a 15 yard touchdown reception. The point after kick was good and the Redmen were able to close the gap, 28-13.

Marquette v Menominee
4th QTR: Menominee would punt the ball away to start the final minutes of the game. Marquette would chip away at the stout Maroon defense. Marquette wouldn’t be able to hold off the defense for long as Austin Ridl would be brought down behind the line forcing the Redmen to punt the ball back to Menominee. The Maroons would take their time and eat up as much clock as they could. Eventually Marquette would get the ball back from a turnover on downs.
The Redmen would try to force their way down to the endzone fighting from behind. The Menominee defense had their number however as Aidan Bellisle would intercept a pass from Ridl to give the Maroons the ball back. Bellisle would find Brady Badker for a 44 yard touchdown reception for the final score of the game.
Menominee left Hart Stadium as the victors beating the Marquette Redmen by a score of 34-13.
FINAL: Menominee 34, Marquette 13
