Redmen Struggle in Season Opener
- Updated: December 17, 2021

Traverse City, MI – December 17th , 2021 – The Marquette Redmen basketball team kicked off it’s season tonight, on the road against the Traverse City Central Trojans.
1Q: The game started with a winning tip and layup from the Trojans, as Marquette would struggle to score their first points. Blocked shots and defensive play from the Trojans made it difficult for the Redmen to get any offensive efficiency in the opening minutes. Jordan DeMay scored the first points of the season off a three pointer from the corner, moments later, the Trojans buried one of their own. With 3 minutes remaining in the opening quarter, it was the Trojans with the 13-5 lead, thanks to three triples. The Trojans defense would continue to harass the Redmen, scoring several fast break layups off of steals, after 1 quarter of play, it was the Trojans leading 20-7.
