Marquette, MI – June 2nd, 2026 – The 2026 Cold Weather Baseball Coaches Alliance UP High School All-Star Game is set for Sunday, June 14, at Al Ness Field in Escanaba, with first pitch scheduled for 4 p.m. In its second year, the event will showcase some of the Upper Peninsula’s top senior baseball talent, featuring 34 players from 15 schools across the region.
Prior to the game, players were selected through a draft and divided into two squads: Team Superior and Team Michigan. The format gives many of the U.P.’s best graduating seniors one final opportunity to compete alongside, and against, some of the region’s top players.
Team Superior will be led by a coaching staff consisting of Cody Kurta of Ironwood, Jason Siik of Negaunee, Billy Mitchell of Rudyard, and Leo Ribich of Gogebic. The roster includes Cannon Arnt, Owen Fields, and Ashton Rymkos from Escanaba; Daryk McWilliams and C-Jay Wainio from Gogebic; Chad Isaacson of Hancock; Mack Pugh of Manistique; Alex Brennan of Marquette; Owen Cardinal, Devin Jurmu, and Morgan Robar of Negaunee; Cameron Varda of Norway; Chase Monette of Stephenson; Trent Baker of Rudyard; and Isaac Ruspakka and Roman Yuhas of Westwood.
Team Michigan will be coached by the Escanaba staff, including Scott Hanson, Phil Arnt, Jared Hanson, Randy Kleiman, Lucas LaCosse, and Bailey Lamb. Their roster features Brian Boutilier and Graham Johnston from Escanaba; Trevor Thorbahn of Gladstone; Ethan Gallo and Brendan McCullough of Ironwood; Max White of Iron Mountain; Caleb Isaacson and Brogan Turner of Jeffers; Britt Fain of Manistique; Desmond Gleason of Marquette; Tristan Slater and Aiden Steel of Negaunee; Owen Baij of Norway; Dyceson Drew of Ontonagon; and Jaxson Clark and Dalton Savoie of Rudyard.
In addition, several players will have the opportunity to compete against future teammates and longtime friends in what promises to be a memorable afternoon of baseball. With talent representing communities from every corner of the Upper Peninsula, the second annual all-star game serves as both a celebration of the region’s baseball tradition and a final showcase for many of the U.P.’s top senior standouts before they begin the next chapter of their athletic and academic careers.
