Marquette, MI – 9/27/17 – The Detroit Tigers season is coming to an end without making the playoffs. The last time the Tigers had bad record heading into the final series of the season was back in 2003 when they lost 119 games. Last night the Kansas City Royals defeated the Tigers 2-1 giving Detroit their eighth straight loss. The Tigers are now in a race for the worst record in the Major Leagues and if they can stay at the very bottom for the next five games they will be awarded with the number one pick in the 2018 MLB Draft.

NCAA Basketball has officially gone into the fire with the announcement of the FBI’s investigation that has  been ongoing for the past three years. The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of New York announced yesterday that federal corruption charges have been filed against four NCAA assistant basketball coaches. The three year FBI investigation provided information on coaches being paid tens of thousands of dollars to lure NBA future players towards sports agents, financial advisers and apparel companies.

The Oklahoma City Thunder picked up 10 time all-star Carmelo Anthony from the New York Knicks for Enes Kanter, Doug McDermott and a 2018 second round pick. The Cleveland Cavaliers also signed Dwayne Wade to the league minimum to be reunited with Lebron James. Both players in Wade and Anthony are from the 2003 NBA Draft.
