
Marquette, MI – 10/19/17 – The WestPac Conference has approved the addition of 5 teams from the Mid-Peninsula Conference as of Wednesday evening. Starting next school year five teams from the Mid Pen; Negaunee, Ishpeming Westwood, Ishpeming, Iron Mountain and Gwinn will be officially part of the newest super conference in the Upper Peninsula. The move leaves the Gladstone Braves and the Manistique Emeralds as the only two remaining in the MPC, they will most likely move to a new conference before the start of next year. The applications have been accepted but each school has the opportunity to opt-out if they so choose at anytime.
The Silver Badger aka Bill Tibor stopped by for the NFL Picks of the Week. Bill is a lifelong Packers fan and is very saddened by the injury to Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers, who is out for the year. Bill leads Ryan and Luke in the rankings with a two game lead over the young guns.
The MLB Postseason has been nothing short of awesome this October. The Astros started off with a two game lead over the New York Yankees, a team that was facing a one game elimination against the Minnestoa Twins in the Wild Card, have come back and taken a 3-2 lead. The World Series Champions Chicago Cubs are down 3-1 against the Los Angeles Dodgers with game 5 tonight in Chicago. The postseason is full of surprises, who will make it to the World Series?
