- Updated: May 26, 2017
Marquette, MI – Jake Marisnick homered off of Detroit reliever Alex Wilson to lead the Houston Astros to a 7-6 victory over the Detroit Tigers on Thursday night. Astros Carlos Correa, Marwin Gonzalez and Juan Centeno all homered off of Justin Verlander in a five run fourth inning. Astros pitcher Mike Fiers allowed four runs on ten hits in 4 2/3 innings. The Tigers also ended up losing catcher James McCann in the fourth inning by a hit pitch that caused a laceration on his pinkie. The Tigers now look to the Chicago White Sox for a four game series.
The Milwaukee Brewers took one on the chin Thursday night losing to the Arizona Diamondback 4-0. Diamondback pitcher Robbie Ray went seven innings, striking out nine and giving up two hits. The Brewers will continue their series with the Diamondbacks tonight at 8:10 pm.
Joe Gaffney stopped in this morning to talk NHL and NBA Finals with us. The NHL side of things, Gaffney picked the Nashville Predators to beat the Pittsburgh Penguins and in the NBA he picked the Cavaliers over the Golden State Warriors.
