Tigers big win and Marquette Redmen Football Freshman Coach
- Updated: August 25, 2016
Marquette, MI – Something is on fire in Detroit and its not just a hot dog, its Justin Upton. The Tigers signed Justin Upton in the off season and has struggled for most of the year. After going through a stretch in which Upton was 1 for 30 and average falling apart, he has gone 8 for his past 16 at bats with key hits in key innings of the game. Matt Boyd ended up with the win and improves his record to 5-2 on the season. The Tigers got some help as the Cleveland Indians and Red Sox both lost. The Tigers are now 5.5 games back in the Central and 3 games behind in the Wild Card. Tigers play the final game of a three game series today at 1:05 in Minnesota, Daniel Norris gets the nod as the Tigers look to complete the sweep.
The Marquette Redmen Football team man handled Sault Ste. Marie yesterday with a 55-0 victory. We had a chance to have head coach Eric Mason in the studio talking Redmen Football and bringing us up to date on the team. He also talked about what his life has been like as a coach and what hes done to help students grow not only on the field but in the classroom. The next Freshman Football game will be on September 7th against Menominee High School.
