Marquette, MI – August 27, 2020 – Luke was not supposed to be hosting “The Sports Drive” on Thursday afternoon. As he mentioned, he should have been crossing the Mackinac Bridge at 3pm when the show was starting, heading to Alpena to call the Marquette football season opener. While that won’t be the case this year, the mediaBrew Greatest Games series will provide some sort of void-fill.
We are living in a moment in history. Yesterday, the Milwaukee Bucks decided to protest their playoff game against the Orlando Magic in the wake of the police shooting of Jacob Blake in Wisconsin. This caused the rest of the NBA to follow suit. Today the NHL announced the postponement of their playoff games in solidarity. Luke and Tyler discuss the immense size of this moment.
