The Sports Drive: Ryan Reichel Talks Final Stretch + Randy Carlson Talks Return of the NIT

Marquette, MI – February 18, 2018 – The Ishpeming Hematites girls basketball team begins their final 1/5 of the season when they host Gladstone. Reichel’s team is playing much better basketball as of late, just in time for the start of districts. Reichel joined the Sports Drive to talk about the last 2 weeks of the regular season.
The Negaunee Invitational Tournament was always the premiere event of the spring in the U.P. Teams from all over the Midwest made their way to Negaunee and Lakeview Memorial Gymnasium to fight for a coveted N.I.T. Trophy. After the tournament abruptly ended 5 years ago, Randy Carlson is bringing it back. Carlson, Negaunee Softball head coach, saw a golden opportunity to fundraise for his program, and bring back a coveted event. Carlson joined the show to talk about the return of the NIT.
