The Sports Drive: Potulny Inks new Contract, Jeff Olsen in Studio

Marquette, MI – March 29, 2018 – Northern Michigan University locked hockey coach Grant Potulny up long-term with a new 8-year day which will pay Potulny a base salary of $286,000 per year. The deal is worth around $2.3 million. The Wildcats finished 2nd in the WCHA and made it to the championship game of the WCHA tournament before being eliminated by Michigan Tech in Potulny’s first year at the helm.
Ishpeming Hematites head football coach Jeff Olsen also stopped by the Fox Sports Marquette studio to chat with Luke and Mark about his Thursday night event at Jamrich Hall on Northern Michigan University’s campus. Olsen will be discussing the stigma surrounding mental illness as well as screening the documentary “Do it for Daniel” which focus on Jeff’s son, Daniel, who struggled with depression which led him to take his own life at the age of 19.
Michigan head men’s basketball coach, John Beilein, received coach of the year honors by CBS Sports. Beilein has led the Wolverines to a 30-7 record this year and a spot in Saturday’s Final Four in San Antonio.
