The Sports Drive: NHL + NBA Playoff Recaps, Plus New Rule in College Football
- Updated: April 19, 2018

Marquette, MI – April 19, 2017 – Today on the Sports Drive there was plenty covered. The Rebounds for Rotary event happens tonight at Marquette Senior High School at 7pm. While we heard from Alex Tiseo on the event from Marquette Senior High School’s perspective, we hadn’t heard from the Rotary’s side of things. Jennifer Huetter stopped by The Morning Show with Walt & Mike on our sister station Sunny FM to talk about the event, so the Sports Drive played her interview.
The Detroit Tigers won their 3rd consecutive game today in a 3-game sweep of the Baltimore Orioles. But it was Tigers fan “Chewbacca ” that stole the show at Comerica Park on Wednesday. The Milwaukee Brewers also finished off a sweep of the Cincinnati Reds which ultimately led to the Reds firing their manager.
College football has implemented a rule that change kickoffs drastically. This year, teams will be able to fair catch any kickoff inside the 25-yard line and that kick will be ruled a touchback, allowing the receiving team to begin their drive from the 25. Mark and Luke did not agree with the rule at first, but statistics on concussions may have swayed them.
Tune into the Sports Drive weekdays from 3-5pm on Fox Sports Marquette 105.1 – 99.9 and on foxsportsmarquette.com
