The Sports Drive: Michigan Falls Short
- Updated: April 3, 2018

Marquette, MI – April 3, 2018 – The Michigan Wolverines came up short in their national championship bid against the Villanova Wildcats on Monday night, 79-62. The Wolverines started the game hot building a 21-14 lead in the first half, but a cold shooting night doomed the Wolverines.
Michigan shot just 3-23 from behind the arc for an abysmal 13%. Michigan also had no answer for the redshirt sophomore, Donte DiVincenzo, who set an NCAA Championship record for most points by a bench player with 31. DiVincenzo shot 10-15 from the field including 5-7 from deep and took the game over for Villanova.
The Wildcats win their 2nd championship in 3 years. Michigan finishes the season 33-8.
