The Sports Drive: Jeff Olson Continues Concussion Series
- Updated: August 1, 2018

Marquette, MI – August 1, 2018 – The Sports Drive continued its concussion series with it’s 3rd day of the week long series. 3-time state champion coach, Jeff Olson of Ishpeming High School, joined the Sports Drive in studio.
Jeff touches on how different concussions, and injuries in general, are dealt with now compared to when he took over in 1992. All coaches are CPR certified and also trained in spotting concussion symptoms. Jeff also believes participation numbers are down not necessarily because of fear of concussions, but because kids just don’t want to give up some of their summer and other non-sports activities.
Tomorrow the Sports Drive continues its concussion series with NMU Wildcats Head Football coach Kyle Nystrom, and Geoff Kimmerly of the MHSAA.
Tune into the Sports Drive weekdays from 3-5pm on Fox Sports Marquette 105.1 – 99.9 and online at foxsportsmarquette.com
