- Updated: August 24, 2018

Marquette, MI – August 24, 2018 – High School Football kicks off Friday night! To get ready for the first week of the 2018 season, the Sports Drive talked with coaches and previewed the Week 1 slate.
Luke and Mark talked with head coach of the Gwinn Modeltowners Dion Brown. Coach Brown loves the talent on his team as well as the number of kids out. The Modeltowner’s are embracing the challenge of a new conference. The Modeltowners begin their season at Bark River-Harris.
Luke and Mark also talked with head coach of the Ishpeming Hematites, Jeff Olson. Following four consecutive trips to Ford Field, the Hematites are looking to make the postseason for the first time in 3 years. Coach Olson likes the makeup of this team and is looking to make another run at Ford Field.
Finally, Luke and Mark caught up with Dave L’Huillier who is at the helm for the 9th year of the Marquette Redmen football team. The Redmen return a lot of production from a 4-5 team last year. A 4-5 team that found themselves in a lot of close games. Coach L’Huillier loves the depth and top-end talent of this team.
