The Sports Drive: Girls Basketball Preview with Ben Smith + Ryan Reichel

Marquette, MI – November 14, 2018 – The opening week of girls basketball practice continued this week and the Sports Drive caught up with a couple of more coaches today.
Ben Smith, Marquette Redettes head coach, talked about the loss of some senior leadership from last year’s GNC ad District Championship team. Coach Smith mentions some of this year’s seniors ready to step into those leadership roles.
The Ishpeming Hematites had their most successful season from a wins perspective last season. The Hematites won 20 games, including a district championship, before falling in the regional final to St Ignace. The Hematites graduated all 5 starters and head coach Ryan Reichel joined the Sports Drive to talk about replacing that core and what to expect from the Hematites this year.
