The Sports Drive: Football Weekend Recap – Are Rules Going to Ruin NFL?

Facebook

Marquette, MISeptember 17, 2018 – The Green bay Packers and Minnesota Vikings played to a 29-29 tie Sunday afternoon at Lambeau Field. The Packers thought they had the game won on a later interception from Kirk Cousins, but the play was negated due to a roughing the passer call on Green Bay’s Clay Matthews. It was due to a new rule implemented to protect quarterbacks even more in the NFL. Luke and Mark ask the question: will new rules intended to protect one specific position be the downfall of the NFL?

It was an incredible Week 4 of the Michigan high school football season. Marquette defeated Escanaba in walk-off fashion with a 3-yard run from Robert Apple on a two-point conversion in overtime. Ishpeming defeated their crosstown rival Westwood to remain unbeaten. And the Gwinn Modeltowners are 4-0 for the first time since 1998.

It was a bad day for the Big Ten on Saturday. The Big Ten West went 2-5 on the day, and the biggest shocker was #6 Wisconsin losing at home to BYU.

Luke and Mark recap the full weekend full of football.
