The Sports Drive: Eric Mason Talks Marquette Football + Ben Olsen Gives Gwinn Update
- Updated: August 14, 2020

Marquette, MI – August 14, 2020 – High school football is almost a full week into practice, and will be at days end. The Sports Drive caught up with a couple of area coaches in Marquette’s Eric Mason and Gwinn’s Ben Olsen.
Eric Mason believes his team is much further along this year than they were at this point last season. He attributes that to the fact that he can slow things down and teach more without threat of scrimmage and a game within the next two weeks, as well as having the exact same coaching staff as he did last year. He joined the Sports Drive to give the rundown on his team, and how badly they want to play.
Gwinn’s Ben Olsen has the challenge of replacing the beloved resurrector of the Gwinn football program, Dion Brown, who tragically passed earlier this year. Coach Olsen joined the Sports Drive to talk about that factor, Gwinn’s seemingly record turnout numbers, and more.
Tune into the Sports Drive weekdays from 3-4pm on Fox Sports Marquette 105.1 – 99.9 and streaming online at foxsportsmarquette.com
