The Sports Drive: Ben Smith + Jim Harbaugh Not Going Anywhere
- Updated: July 19, 2018

Marquette, MI – July 19, 2018 – The summer can be a pivotal time for aspiring high school athletes and teams. There is an old mantra “Champions are born in the offseason.” Ben Smith, head coach of the Marquette Redettes girls basketball team, joined the Sports Drive from Lower Michigan where his team is participating in a 2-day shootout tournament.
The Redettes are hosting a team camp at various gyms around Marquette on Sunday and Monday. The team camp plays host to 39 teams, which Coach Smith is excited about. The Redettes are losing 3 starters from last year and are trying to build quality team chemistry over the summer.
There has been a long standing trend amongst National NFL writers since Jim harbaugh parted ways with the San Francisco 49ers. The trend is that Jim Harbaugh would rather be in the NFL than in College. Every offseason since Harbaugh accepted the head coaching position at the University of Michigan, rumors and guesses have started on when and where Harbaugh will make his return to the NFL. Luke says, Harbaugh is not leaving Michigan. Until he’s done coaching.
Tune into the Sports Drive weekdays from 3-5pm on Fox Sports Marquette 105.1 – 99.9 and online at foxsportsmarquette.com
