The Sports Drive: Ben Olsen Previews Gwinn Girls Hoops Season
- Updated: November 25, 2019

Marquette, MI – November 25, 2019 – The Gwinn Modeltowners are looking to build on a successful 2018-2019 girls basketball campaign. The Modeltowners finished above .500 and came very close to upsetting the 1-loss Westwood Patriots in the district championship. Gwinn lost a number of starters from last year’s team, but Ben Olsen is confident in his returning players and returning experience. Coach Olsen joined the Sports Drive Monday to preview the 2019-2020 season.
The 2019 high school football season is almost at a close. While no 11-player U.P. teams will be playing this weekend at Ford Field, the U.P. did get one state champion crowned. The Pickford Panthers beat Portland St. Patrick Saturday in the Division 2 8-player state championship game to claim the title. Mark Evans joined the show to talk about the 8-player games players Saturday.
