Rudock Leads Lions, Tigers Falter In 8th And Wally From Southside Auto

Marquette, MI – 8/14/17 – The Detroit Lions opened up their preseason with a 24-10 victory over the Indianapolis Colts. Lions back-up quarterback Jake Rudock threw 13-21 for 142 yards and two touchdowns. Detroit Lions rookie receiver made a big impression catching the ball three times for 53 yards and two touchdowns. Indianapolis had a tough day offensively finishing with a total of 230 of offense.

The Detroit Tigers had a tough weekend losing the the Minnesota Twins two times in the three game series. The Tigers were defeated on Sunday afternoon 6-4 off the bat of Byron Buxton who broke up the tie in the eighth inning with a single. Tigers starter Matthew Boyd went 5 2/3 innings allowing four runs and lost his second straight game. Brian dozier and Miguel Sano also homered for the Twins who blew a four run lead in the game but found away to scrape up runs late in the game. The Tigers now focus their attention to the Texas Rangers when they start a three game series tonight.
