Redmen Win At The Dee, Wolverines Roll And Thanksgiving Day Football

Marquette, MI – 11/22/17 – The Marquette Redmen Hockey team traveled to Dee Stadium in Houghton to take on the Houghton Gremlins. The Gremlins came in ranked number 7 in division 3 while the Redmen ranked number 8 in division 2. The Redmen scored three goals in the first period starting with newcomer Sterling Wright and followed up by captain Joey Phillips and Aydin Frost. The story of the game was Redmen goaltender Dylan Sibilsky who was peppered all night and came away with 44 saves on 46 shots to lead the Redmen to a 3-2 victory. The Redmen return to play on Tuesday, November 28th.
The Michigan Wolverines basketball team defeated Chaminade 102-64 in the Maui Invitational on Tuesday night. The Wolverines were led by Kentucky transfer Charles Matthews who dropped 22 points and 10 rebounds. Muhammad-Ali Abdur-Rahkman also added 17 points in the Wolverines victory. The maize and blue now look to the fifth place game against the VCU Rams later today.
The Detroit Lions and Minnesota Vikings square off on Thanksgiving Day tomorrow in a battle for the NFC North. The Lions beat the Vikings earlier in the season in Minnesota 14-10 but the Vikings haven’t lost since and beat a 7-2 team last week in the Los Angeles Rams. The Lions come in having won the past three but have struggled to stop the run. Tomorrows game has a 12:30 pm kickoff.
