Red Wings Make Moves, Pistons OT Victory and Sled Hockey

Marquette, MI – The Detroit Red Wings made a couple of moves yesterday, a day before the Trade Deadline. The Wings shipped defense-man Brendan Smith to the New York Rangers and forward Steve Ott to the Montreal Canadians. The Red Wings were also away last night against the Vancouver Canucks, the Red Wings came out on top winning in overtime 3-2. Red Wings forward Justin Abdelkader scored 2:31 into overtime to provide the Wings with a much needed victory. Red Wings goalie Petr Mrazek made 25 saves in the contest. The Wings look to their next game which will come on Friday when they take on the Flames in Calgary.

The Detroit Pistons did something no other Pistons team has accomplished last night, sweep the Portland Trail Blazers in a season series. The Pistons were down in the third but used a 13-4 run to get back into the game and go into overtime. In overtime the Pistons were led by Marcus Morris who had 37 points on the night, with many clutch shots. The Pistons won the game 120-113. The Pistons now look forward to tonight’s game against the New Orleans Pelicans.
