Red Wings break a pair of streaks, Kinsler is Golden and Mutineer Hockey

Marquette, MI – The Detroit Red Wings started out on a losing streak, went on a winning streak then went on a big losing streak and then well, broke a couple streaks last night in their 3-2 victory over the Philadelphia Flyers. The Red Wings last victory in Philadelphia was on January 25th in 1997. Red Wings Andreas Athanasiou had a big game scoring a goal to tie the game that eventually went into over time and then scoring the game winner in the shootout. Goalie Jimmy Howard stopped 23 of 25 shots faced and the Red Wings gained two points in Philadelphia. The Red Wings next game comes Thursday night when they host the Vancouver Canucks.

Detroit Tigers second baseman Ian Kinsler took home some hardware on Tuesday night. The MLB held their awards banquet and Kinsler came away with a Gold Glove. The award has been one that Kinsler has had to wait for over many years of coming close. Kinsler had a .988 fielding percentage and led the MLB in defensive runs saved with 12.

Marquette Mutineers Joey Enright stopped by to talk about his team and what to expect in the future. Joey went over each player and their season. The Mutineers open up their season in Eagle River on Friday night at 6 pm in the Dome. The Mutineers will return next week when they play at the Lakeview on the 19th at 7 pm.
