Marquette, MI – The Detroit Pistons came up short on Wednesday night against the New Orleans Pelicans 109-86. The Pelicans were without star center DeMarcus Cousins due to his 18th technical foul of the season and a one game suspension. Pelican Anthony Davis led the way with 33 points followed by Jrue Holliday who chipped in 22 points for the Pelicans. The Pistons had a tough time in the game after the ejection from Andre Drummond. The Pistons were led by forward Jon Leuer with 22 points followed by Drummond who had 13 points to go along with 17 rebounds. The Pistons still hold onto the last playoff spot in the east and look to keep climbing the playoff ladder when they take on the Philadelphia 76ers on Saturday.

The Detroit Red Wings are off until Friday when they travel to Calgary to take on the Flames. The Red Wings came out of the Trade Deadline yesterday making three moves. The Wings sent defense-man Brendan Smith To New York, Right Wing Steve Ott to the Canadians and center Thomas Vanek to the Florida Panthers. Each move was for draft picks and also acquired defense-man Dylan Mcilrath from Florida. The Red Wings are last in the Atlantic Division.
