- Updated: August 18, 2016
Marquette, MI – Green Bay Packers football is in full swing as they are set to take on the Oakland Raiders at home tonight at 8pm. Aaron Rodgers is getting an early christmas present as he gets his partner in crime back before the season begins, number 87. Jordy Nelson is ahead of schedule coming off a 2015 torn ACL and has been taken off the PUP list making him available for preseason games. The Packers have high expectations for the 2016-2017 season and their star wide receiver will be ready by week 1.
The Marquette Senior High School Athletic Director Blaise Zimmer stopped by to give us insight on the upcoming fall sports season and ” Meet The Redmen and Redettes” night. Blaise also shared some stories about his past before Marquette and his playing days as a basketball player. The most important subjects Blaise touched on started with the student athletes and their development in the life and the classroom. Speaking with Blaise we learned how passionate and excited he is for his program. The Marquette Redmen kick off thier first football game of the year with a scrimmage tomorrow against Calumet.
Coming up on Friday we will talk about local and national sports, including the Olympics. We will have special guest Pete Kolbus who will be calling play by play for the Marquette Senior High School football team. Tune in as we keep you up to date on local and national sports on 105.1 and 99.9 Fox Sports Marquette.
