NHL Starts With A Bang, MLB and NFL ON Adam Carpenter Day

Marquette, MI – Auston Matthews put the NHL on notice last night in first career game. Matthews was the number one overall draft pick in the 2016 NHL Draft, taken by the Toronto Maple Leafs. Even though the Leafs lost to the Senators in overtime, Matthews became the first rookie in NHL history to record four goals in their first game.
The Dodgers and Nationals will be facing off in a huge elimination game Thursday night. Max Scherzer will take the bump for the National and the Dodgers will send Rich Hill to the mound in the final game of the series. The winner will move on to the NLCS and face the Chicago Cubs.
The Detroit Red Wings begin their pursuit to make the playoffs for the 26th straight year tonight as they take on the Tampa Bay Lightning. The Red Wings have many questions surrounding the team with the new additions and the struggles on defense. The Wings begin their season at 7:30 tonight in Tampa Bay.
