- Updated: August 30, 2017
Marquette, MI – 8/30/17 – Mark Evans joined us this morning talking about the 2017 Negaunee Miners football team. The Miners opened up their season on the road with a loss to the Boyne City Ramblers 51-13. Negaunee lost nearly all its starters to graduation and took a tough loss to end the season last year in the playoffs to Calumet 6-0 at home. The Miners will be at home this coming Thursday against Calumet, game time will begin at 7 pm.
The Detroit Tigers took one on the chin last night as they fell to the Colorado Rockies 7-3 on the bat of Nolan Arenado who hit his 30th home run with a three run shot in the seventh innings. Tigers Mikie Mahtook was the only shining star for Detroit tying the game with a two run shot in the seventh. The Tigers continue their series tonight against the Rockies at 7:05 pm.
The College Football season is set to begin tomorrow night, this weekend will be filled with many big match-ups. Last years National Champion the Clemson Tigers re-signed Dabo Sweeney going into the 2017 season. The Alabama Crimson Tide will open up as the number one team in the country.
