Negaunee Miner Football, Central Michigan Opens Season And Wolverines

Marquette, MI – 8/31/17 – The Negaunee Miners will open the second week of the high school football season with their home opener against the Calumet Copper Kings. The Calumet Copper Kings eliminated the Miners last year in the second room of the playoffs. Tonight the game will being at 7 pm, Mark Evans and Greg Nelson will have the pre-game show beginning at 6:30 pm on Sunny 101.9 FM.
Central Michigan will open up their season tonight against Rhode Island at Kelly Shorts Stadium in Mount Pleasant, Michigan. Today we had the great opportunity to talk with football sideline reporter for the Chippewas Adam Jacksa. Jacksa is also the host of the Chippewa Rewind, a show that airs weekly for Central Michigan. The game tonight kicks off the college football season and will begin at 7 pm on ESPN 3.
The Michigan Wolverines will open up their season on Saturday against the South Eastern Conference’s Florida Gators. The Gators will go into week one missing 10 players to suspension. The Wolverines have named Wilton Speight the starting quarterback heading into the first game of the season. The Gators will look to its youth with key missing players. The game will begin at 3:30 pm in Arlington, Texas this Saturday and the game will be aired on ABC.
