Marquette Volleyball, Marquette Mutineer Joey Enright And Tigers

Marquette, MI – 9/20/17 – The Marquette Senior High School Volleyball team fell to Stephenson High  yesterday 3-2. Marquette was on the road and dropped a tough five set match to the Eagles. Marquette won the first two sets 25-18, 25-22 but then lost the next three, 17-25,22-25 and 8-15. The Redettes were let bu Mikalia Graham with 11 digs, Chole Hale with 19 assists, Lauren Wilkinson with 7 kills, Peyton Sides, Ellie Hicks and Avery Ledy with one block a piece. The Redettes now travel to Escanaba for a match-up on Thursday.

Joey Enright from the Marquette Mutineers stopped by this morning to talk about the upcoming hockey season. The Mutineers will be holding team tryouts for the season starting on October 6th and going until the 7th. The tryouts will be held at Marquette’s Lakeview Arena and the $25.00 tryout fee will be due before you can play.

The Detroit Tigers took a tough loss on Tuesday night as they fell to the Oakland Athletics 9-8. Athletics Jed Lowrie hit a go-ahead grand slam in the eighth inning and the Athletics came back from a four run deficit. Oakland starter Daniel Gossett allowed six runs, nine hits and three walks in nearly five innings of work. Tigers right fielder Nick Castellanos continued his 17 game hit streak. The Tigers will end their series with Oakland today in the finale at 1:10 pm.
