Marquette Senior High School, Pistons Lose 3rd Straight And Michigan Blows 20 Point Lead

Marquette, MI – 12/5/17 – Marquette Senior High School Athletic Director Alex Tiseo stopped by this morning to talk about the winter sports season at Marquette. The Girls basketball team went down to Petoskey over the weekend and won the Petoskey invitational defeating Manton and Brighton. The Hockey team went to Sault Ste Marie last Friday to play Utica Eisenhower who won 7-5 and on Saturday the Redmen defeated Romeo in a 4-0 victory. The Wrestling team gets underway this weekend holding a tournament and boys basketball starts down in Traverse City. The auxiliary gym is almost completely finished, we’ll have updates in the coming weeks.
The Detroit Pistons lost to the San Antonio Spurs on Monday night 96-93 after losing a 9-point lead in the first half. Pistons Reggie Jackson had 20 points and halftime and finished with the team lead at 27. The Spurs were led by Kyle Anderson replacement Rudy Gay who added 12 points and 10 rebounds. The Pistons have now lost three straight games and will complete their road-trip tomorrow night when they take on the Milwaukee Bucks.
The Michigan Wolverines basketball team fell to the Ohio State Buckeyes on Monday night after leading by 20 going into halftime 71-62. The Wolverines came out hot firing on all cylinders with a 56.7 shooting percentage and a 43-30 halftime lead but a 17.2 percent shot percentage in the second half was the downfall. Ohio State’s Keita Bates-Diop led the way with 18 points followed by C.J. Jackson with 17 and in the final 2 minutes, Ohio State hit 11 free throws to ice the game. The Wolverines fall to 7-3 on the season and 1-1 in the Big Ten. The Wolverines will be back in action on Saturday when they host UCLA.
