Marquette Hockey, Prater Wins It For Lions And Packers Shutout

Marquette, MI – 11/20/17 – Marquette Senior High School Head Hockey Coach Doug Garrow stopped in this morning to talk about his team as they go into the regular season ranked #8 in division 2. The Redmen will be led by Senior Captain Joey Phillips as the Redmen look to contend for a state championship. The Redmen will once again have a strong goalie core in Dylan Sibilsky and Tyler Bergwall, both could be every game starters. The season will bgin tomorrow night as they Redmen head to Houghton for a seven o’clock puck drop. You can tune into Redmen Hockey on Fox Sports Marquette at 6:30 pm.

The Detroit Lions escaped Chicago Sunday afternoon on the foot of kicker Matt Prater who drilled a 52-yarder in the wind for a 27-24 Lions victory. The win gives the Lions an undefeated record against divisional opponents and all of them coming on the road. Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford was 21 of 31 for 299 yards and two touchdowns. The Lions improve to 6-4 and currently hold the second place in the division behind the Minnesota Vikings who are 8-2. The Lions look to Thanksgiving Day when they host the Minnesota Vikings at 12:30 pm.

The Green Bay Packers were shutout at home for the first time in 2006 and the Baltimore Ravens came into Lambeau Field and left with a 23-0 victory. The Baltimore defense forced five turnovers and pressured Packers quarterback Brett Hundley for 6 sacks. Packers Devante Adams was the only bright spot for the Packers hauling in 126 yards on eight catches. Baltimore quarterback Joe Flacco passed for 183 yards with one interception. The Packers were last shutout in Lambeau in a loss to the New England Patriots 35-0 in 2006. The Packers return to action on November 26th when they visit Pittsburgh to play the Steelers.
