The Legendary Green Bay Packers – How The Legend Was Built  By: David Zimmerman

Marquette, MI – 8/10/17 – Justin Verlander came into last nights game coming off of three straight victories on the mound. Last night Verlander went eight innings only giving up one hit and struck out six in a 10-0 victory over the Pittsburgh Pirates. Tigers second baseman Ian Kinsler had a home run and went 3-4 with four RBI while third baseman Nicholas Castellanos had a good night as well adding five RBI to the Tigers lead. Justin Verlander was quoted after the game talking about his pitching performance, “I know I can still be a dominant pitcher”. Verlander has gone deep into games the past four starts and hasn’t allowed more than three runs in a start since July 2nd.

Author David Zimmerman joined us this morning to talk about his new book, “The Legendary Green Bay Packers – How the Legend was Built”. The book brings to life the celebration of people and events that created the legend. In today’s interview we learned about what went into creating the book and Zimmerman’s life as a writer. His book is available now and can be purchased online at www.legendarypackers1919.com.

The NHL is not allowing its players to play in the Olympics. In June, the NHL put out the schedule for the 2017-2018 season without an Olympic break and as of right now will remain that way. Gary Bettman the NHL Commissioner was cited as saying that injury concerns and revenue loss to the franchises was the main focal point. Bettman has addressed this issue many times over the past year and it looks like it will stay that way.
