Jose Leads Tigers, NFC North and Alex Tiseo

Marquette, MI – Jose Iglesias hit the ball three times for the Detroit Tigers on Sunday afternoon leading them to a 7-3 victory over the Chicago White Sox. Detroit now sits at .500 and in third place in the AL Central. Tigers pitcher Jordan Zimmermann had a solid outing picking up his third victory of the season allowing three runs on seven hits and two walks in the contest. The Tigers will now continue Central Division play taking on the Cleveland Indians for a four game series today beginning at 7:10 pm at Comerica Park.

The Detroit Lions and Green Bay Packers concluded their NFL Draft over the weekend. Both teams went defensive in the first two rounds and added offense in the later rounds. Both teams received their schedule for the 2017-2018 season as well. The Packers and Lions were both at the top of the NFC North Division with the Packers ending up in first place at 10-6 on the year followed by the Lions at 9-7.

Marquette Senior High School’s new Athletic Director Alex Tiseo stopped by this morning to talk about his past experiences that led to his hire at Marquette. Tiseo, is a former Marquette Senior High School student and college athlete at Michigan Tech University. Alex Tiseo will conclude his job at Northern Michigan University as the Assistant Athletic Director in two weeks while current Marquette Athletic Director Blaise Zimmer finishes out his last two weeks.
