Brewers Win Again, JD Bombs Away and “Do It For Daniel”
- Updated: May 17, 2017
Marquette, MI – Eric Sogard had career high four hits with an RBI for the Milwaukee Brewers as they defeated the San Diego Padres 6-2 on Tuesday night. Brewers pitcher Jimmy Nelson had a solid outing striking out eight batters, walking one, giving up seven hits and only allowing two runs. Padres pitcher Clayton Richard lost his third straight decision over the past five starts. He allowed six runs on ten hits in six innings.
Since JD Martinez has been back the Tigers offense has received the much needed boost its been looking for. The Baltimore Orioles defeated the Detroit Tigers in game one of a three game series 13-11 on Tuesday night in 13 innings. The main story coming out of the game was not Orioles first baseman Chris Davis and his two home runs but rather JD Martinez who had yet another solid game in his second game back. Martinez had a grand slam in the seventh en-route to another two home run game for Martinez who now has four on the year. The Tigers will play game two of the three game series tonight at 7:10 pm.
Ishpeming Hematite Head Football Coach Jeff Olson stopped in to talk about the “Do it for Daniel” production that will be shown this weekend. The showing will be at Ishpeming High School on Sunday May 21st at 4:00 pm. The event comes with free admission and donations will be accepted. Please come to the “Do it for Daniel” showing to raise awareness of depression. Coach Olson has been on a mission and needs your support to get the message out. We would like to thank Coach Olson for stopping by and talking with us this morning.
