Brew Crew Lose In 10th, Tigers Back In Action And Celtics Move On

Marquette, MI – Sand Diego Padres rookie Hunter Renfroe hit a two run home-run with two outs in the tenth inning to lead the Padres to a 6-5 victory over the Milwaukee Brewers. The Brewers battled all day coming back from 3-0 and 4-2, the Brewers took the lead in the top of the tenth on a homer from Eric Sogard but eventually lost in the bottom half of the inning. The Brewers first baseman Eric Thames ended up with the night off after not feeling well and third baseman Travis Shaw was also not in the line-up due to a swollen index finger. The Brewers continue their series with the Padres today sending Jimmy Nelson to the mound (1-2 3.99 ERA) against lefty Clayton Richard (2-4 4.34 ERA) in game two.

After a day off the Detroit Tigers will get back to work as they get set for a three game series against the Baltimore Orioles at home. The Tigers will send Matt Boyd to the mound, Boyd comes in with a 2-3 record that carries a 3.89 ERA. The Orioles will counter with lefty Wade Miley who comes in at 1-1 with a 2.45 ERA. The first pitch in the series is set for 7:05 pm.

The Boston Celtics defeated the Washington Wizards in game 7 behind the jump shot of Kelly Olynyk coming off the bench dropping 26 points in 28 minutes. Celtic point guard Isiah Thomas added 29 points and 12 assists as the Celtics move on to the Eastern Conference Finals to face the Cleveland Cavilers. Bradley Beal led the way for the Wizards dropping 38 points but the main problem for Washington was the bench which only combined for 5 points. The Celtics improved to 22-8 all-time in game 7s.
