Marquette, MI – 9/26/17 – Marquette Senior High School Athletic Director stopped in this morning to bring our weekly update with Marquette athletics. The Marquette Redmen football team has been the main story after a 27-26 victory last Friday against the Petoskey Northmen in the final seconds. That game featured great running, passing and defense by Dave L’Huillier’s team. The Redmen will welcome in the Kingsford Flivvers this Friday for the homecoming game. Alex Tiseo went over all of the events leading up to the game that will take place. The auxiliary gym is still under construction but is moving along quickly and is due to be finished in January of 2018.

The Dallas Cowboys came up with a victory over the Arizona Cardinals 28-18, finally getting the bad taste out of their mouth after a surprising loss to the Denver Broncos in week 2. Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott led the offense going 13-18 and 183 yards through the air to go along with his two touchdowns. Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliot who gained only 8 yards on nine carries in week 2 had 80 yards on 22 attempts with a touchdown. The Cardinals dominated the game in the first half statistically, Carson Palmer and his 325 yards passing with two scores wasn’t enough to bring the Cardinals back. The Cowboys now look to next Sunday as they take on the Los Angeles Rams.

The Detroit Red Wings have officially opened up Little Caesars Arena in downtown Detroit. The pre-season has been quite the show as the rookies from the past couple years have been providing the offense. Dylan Larkin, Anthony Mantha, Dennis Cholowski and Michael Rassmussen have all provided goals and assists through the first four games. Little Caesars Arena is a state of the art arena with big screens, restaurants and shopping centers. The banners have yet to be hanged but will be ready for the open of the season.
